Just an update, I've got some library loading issues in both the new KOffice and KDevelop that I'm still tracking down. Be patient, updates are on the way. :)
April 2003 Archives
This is pretty cool. They watch blog updates which have a GeoURL in them, and dynamically display when they get updated. And here's another fun one, a fantasy stock market page where the currency is blog popularity.
Well, looks like I should have the new KOffice ready sometime today, if things go well. It wants QSA (the new Qt javascript engine) for some stuff but I'm going to have to skip it. QSA is most *definitely* not ready to link on OSX yet, and the build system is pretty nasty, so it's not easy to destroot. Other than that it's coming along nicely. Other changes include MySQL support in the kexidb stuff, kontour is removed, and there's a new MSWord import based on libwv2.
As for KDevelop, it looks like it's got some plugin-loading problems that are going to take more digging, so it may not be ready for a few days. We'll see.
Welp, I'm back from vacation, I Went around a bit of the east coast (mostly Virginia) with my mom and had a great time. We packed a lot into a bit over a week.
I'm still catching up on all my Apple-related mail, but it looks like the KDE release went pretty well for the most part. Not many crazy e-mails upon my return about massive amounts of things breaking. :)
I see there's a new kdevelop alpha, and a new koffice beta, so I'm going to get those packaged up in a bit, but it will probably be a few days before I'm caught up enough to get to it. (Still gotta watch last week's 24 and catch up with family.)
I'm just letting some tests run while I'm at work, but KDE 3.1.1 should be going into Fink stable any moment now. Prepare to build! :)
I saw this over on Forwarding Address: OS X and thought I'd respond. Read more to see what I sent to Mike Knell on my Mac experience.
Some turkey may call your bluff.
The story is about a good friend of mine, we've known each other since first grade. It's not an April fool's joke, but it's certainly better weird news than most of the attempts at humor I've seen today.
Talk about weird. Glad to hear he's OK, anyways...
