KDE/Mac Snapshot, 2007-02-04

FYI, I put out a new KDE/Mac snapshot a few days ago. Nothing major other than refreshing with the latest SVN and adding oKular into the build. It looks like something's wrong with plugin-loading, though, oKular can't find any file plugins.

I'll look into getting it fixed soon, and see if we can get oKular actually opening documents. ;)

I stand corrected, I must have run kbuildsycoca on one machine but started it up on another. =)

And to prove it...

okular on KDE/Mac

about okular not finding its plugins, did you run kbuildsycoca?

Hey there...

Trying to duplicate your packages, I ran into problems, as I told you about before on IRC. I thought I'd give you some text that might help, in case actually seeing it works.

I rebuilt Qt without gif:

make clean && ./configure -fast -largefile -qt-sql-mysql -qt-sql-sqlite -system-sqlite -no-gif -qdbus -system-libjpeg -system-libmng -debug && make sub-src sub-tools && make sub-src-install_subtargets sub-tools-install_subtargets install_qmake install_mkspecs

I do have giflib 4.1.4 installed from source.

Compiling kdelibs gives me this:

[ 60%] Built target genembed
[ 60%] Generating keramikrc.h, pixmaps.keramik
dyld: Symbol not found: __cg_DGifGetLine
Referenced from: /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ImageIO.framework/Versions/A/ImageIO

make[2]: *** [kstyles/keramik/keramikrc.h] Error 133
make[1]: *** [kstyles/keramik/CMakeFiles/keramik.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

If anything there helps and you have any inspiration, please do let me know...thanks!

Is Quanta Plus missing for some reason? The documentation was installed, but I can't find the application anywhere. KdeWebDev is installed.

I am pretty new to KDE and I was wondering if anyone could help me add a program to the K menu. I have installed koffice through the binary available here but the only way I can launch any part of it is through the OS X interface. It launches into X11 and it runs fine. I would just like to have it listed in the K menu and launch it through KDE. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You mean you got the binaries from http://ranger.users.finkproject.org/kde/ ?

If so, there's no X11 involved, and there's no K menu or desktop. The whole point of the native mac (non-X11) port is to make native apps that you use in the dock/finder/etc.

Since OSX already *is* a desktop, the native mac port does not include kicker (or it's eventual replacement) and thus no menu. You are meant to launch them just like any other OSX application.
